We are Ellen Hartnett and Steve Larsen. Having both passed 60 years of age, we determined to explore our transition from the work-a-day world to something else.
Steve left corporate America in 2014. Ellen has loved being a clinical therapist for nigh on four decades, but she too is ready for new adventures.
We have two children, a daughter Blakey and a son Peter. They are fledged, and we are confident that they are on their ways.
What drives us?
- We each have had role model parents – Steve’s parents retired early and started robust new lives in Door County, Wisconsin; Ellen’s parents retired early, bought a sailboat, and lived abroad for many years, sailed back to the Caribbean, and eventually ended up in Bayfield, Wisconsin.
- We are young enough to embark on some serious adventures.
- We love to travel and experience other cultures.
- We believe in service to others.
- We like establishing community.
- We have another few years to go before we want to tap into our Social Security.
- We applied for the Peace Corps in 1980, after we were married, and were not accepted.
Ellen:
Keep me posted if you need any help. Have lots of fun.
Hugs and love
Mary
