We were supposed to go snorkeling on this day. There were 21 knot winds, so we chose to push it out. Instead we went to Bliss beach on the north Island. I’d read about it somewhere so we headed out to The Split (the northern tip of the south island).
We got tickets and Harry came to get us and take us to the Beach.
We arrived at Bliss Beach and were the first visitors to arrive. We quickly met the owners, a French couple and there twenty-something son. Turns out, they’d only been open for a few weeks, so it was great that I’d read about it. We were able to score the best spot. And they even had cushions on their chairs!
The son had learned to be a bartender in Paris, where he perfected his art. The drinks were delicious. They had a very limited menu, but oh my, was the crudité platter worth it.
The water wasn’t deep, but it was cooling. The temperature, was perfect with the breeze.
If only we had realized you had to go to the north island to get to bliss beach! We would definitely have gone but since it was afternoon by the time we got to The Split, it was probably just as well that we stayed put there.
