Burst Update

Rather than a glum image of a hospital room, I chose the sunset tonight, with a kid playing on the beach.  This was particularly great as I spent last night in Ellen’s room at the clinic on a love seat.  (Not that it isn’t worse for her.  It is.)  It’s nice to be back at the casa.

I am happy to report that it is very likely that Ellen will be discharged from the clinic tomorrow.  She has been up and walking since Tuesday.  The bodily systems that shall not be named, but are of great interest to the medical community seem to be operating per specification.  And most important, Ellen is crawling out of her skin waiting to get out.

I will save more details for another post.  I will not be surprised if we hear from Ellen soon.  We did discuss trying to put her experience to music.  My initial thought was, unfortunately, “Rocky Raccoon.”  This would be very difficult.  I then moved on to “The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down.”  (“The Night They Drove Elena Down”)  Better, but still a big job.

The important thing is that she is much better.  We are anticipating weeks on the beach in recuperation.  Sunsets are good for the soul.

Thanks to all of the great thoughts, prayers, and reiki vibes that have been sent this way.  You guys are the best!
