Eckel’s Pottery

Some of Ellen’s parent’s best friends in Bayfield were Bob and Lou Eckels.  We made a stop at Eckel’s Pottery Shop while in Bayfield.  Although the place is now run by daughter Deedee, it is still a wonderful and funky place, with some spectacular arts and crafts.

Not only did Tim’s friend Bob make the now infamous “urn” that his ashes were to be stored in, but he made a ceramic mosaic that was mounted for many years on the shore house in Bayfield.  It depicted the Terra Nova, the boat that Tim and Kitty sailed around the Med, Adriatic, Aegean, Atlantic, and Caribbean for many years.
