Latitude 1 B&B

Medical Update:  Ellen is home (our current home in Ecuador) and doing well.  We go in for checkups every other day.  You’ll probably getting a Ellen’s Postcard from the Edge soon.

Many have been asking about our current lodging situation.  We are staying at “Latitude 1 B&B” with our host Susan.  She has been a rock throughout our recent medical experiences.  I suppose hailing from Minnesota and having lived for decades in Alaska makes you “good people.”

The place is on a long lot in between the ocean and the highway at the southern border of San Jose next to the cemetery.  This particular spot of shoreline is in the middle of a bay.

This is one of the only spots on the beach where starfish show up routinely.  We often also see sand dollars.  There is surfing a bit north.  To the south are beach cabanas and restaurants.

The place has five bedrooms, including Susan’s, indoor and outdoor seating, a cook’s kitchen, and a lawn just a little too bumpy for croquet.

We aren’t sure how long we’ll be here.  Certainly until Ellen is back on her feet.  Our 90 day tourist visas are about half done and we still have quite a bit of Ecuador to see.

Here are some shots of the place, including Tasha and Brascom, our watchdog buddies (click on any picture for slideshow mode):
