The last day of our magical mystery tour of Northern Thailand. In hindsight, we wish we’d planned a few more days in Chang Mai. It has a nice vibe, and when one discovers a great breakfast place, one doesn’t want to let it go.
We opted for VIP tickets in the “Green Bus.” $11 each.
After breakfast, we took a Grab to the bus station, then waited a bit. Eventually:
Lek and Pete picked us up in Chang Rai and we headed to O-Case’s for Guinness. Had Italian after that, then home to bed.
Here is the iconic Chang Rai clock tower.

We are so grateful to our Thai friends who have made this first month of our tour so much easier and richer! Waiting to leave until after the election. It did not go as I had planned, and I really had a hard time with jetlag and post election blues. I also felt so powerless and guilty for leaving my friends fighting cancer to go off on an adventure. I am now accepting my powerless more and embracing what my life has to offer others in a different way. Being able to have Lek and Peter drive us places we would never see as tourist has opened our eyes to how agrarian this culture is. Obviously not Bangkok! Kanika and My gave us a glimpse of upwardly mobile families life style of working in the city.
We leave for Laos tomorrow, don’t know what we will find ,or how the internet will be! Onward we go…..
