Here we were on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, longingly looking at the water. We signed up to go out on a boat, but it had been too windy as of late, and the skipper had vetoed several days. Finally, it was our time. There were seven of us, the Austrians, Peter and Karin, The Germans Daniel, Antonia, and Marcus, and the Americans, Ellen and Steve. First, we needed to get on the boat. They tendered us from the beach:
And then we were on our way. Our first stop was a smallish island on the way to Koh Wai, our ultimate destination. I went in anxiously waiting to try my waterproof phone case for taking pictures underwater. Unfortunately, it stopped after only one shot.
This was a real shame, as I was soon seeing large green fish (parrot fish?) and finding myself in schools of other fish. Turns out, it was use error. I needed to set a button to click the shutter, as the touch screen stopped working under water. Perhaps due to temperature.
Eventually we made it to Koh Wai, where we stopped to swim and have lunch. It is a beautiful island/beach.
All good things come to an end. We headed back home.
Leave it to the Minnesotan to wear a life vest.
