Spent the night in Hailey, Idaho. We were told that Sun Valley and Ketchem are too chi-chi.
Headed out on the Sun Valley Scenic Byway. When we went through the pass, it opened to the Salmon River Valley of the Sawtooth Mountains National Recreation Area. This area was created in the 1970’s by the efforts of Senator Frank Church and his wife Bethine.
Eventually we moved on to the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway. There was quite a bit of fire damage.
Then Boise for lunch. Spent the night in John May, Oregon, a small town of about 2000 that happens to be hosting a volleyball tournament. We were privileged to hear groups of young girls screaming during the night.
