The good news, the image above is not Majic. The bad news, we heard yesterday from Ellie that reports of Majic’s relaunch are greatly exaggerated. She is still “on the hard,” (not in the water.)
The nautical gods have conspired against Ellie and Jack, an experience most boat-owners are all too familiar with. The boat-works says that the very earliest Majic will be splashed is June 25th. She will then need to sit for a bit to allow the hull boards to swell, as well as undergoing testing, etc.
Bottom line is that we have made the tough decision to cancel our flights. Given Ellen’s work schedule for her final 3 weeks, we just won’t be able to make it work.
It is a boat, after all. Rarely does all go according to plan. It is, nonetheless, a disappointment. We were really looking forward to the trip.
