Ellen and I lived in Topanga, California from 2006-2009. I commuted to Los Angeles from 2001-2006. We moved out from Saint Paul after the kids were fledged (somewhat).
Although we were only there for three years, it might have been a lifetime for the friends we made and adventures we had. We lived in a beautiful place on Waveview Drive. We could walk to the end of the road and look out to Catalina Island. Nights were filled with hot-tubbing with starlit skies and the sounds of frogs, owls, and coyotes.
We relish the times we can go back and visit. Given the flights to Ecuador are cheapest from L.A. we think it makes sense to bookend the South America trip with a little Topanga time.
