Not surprisingly, the best places to see sunsets are on the Western shore. There are plenty of restaurants. This night we chose Maggie’s.
When we arrived, all of the picnic tables on the deck had been taken. We were seated in the back. The owner asked us why we were there, to which we replied “she put us here.” He walked over to the deck, spoke to a young couple, and waved us over. We sat with an Austrian woman teaching in Mexico City and a man, finding himself, from the Netherlands.
The picnic table format is quite popular on Caye Caulker. As with almost all furniture here, it is wood. Even so, the sunsets are pretty great.
